Afghan legislators in the Lower House of the Parliament (Wolesi Jirga) voted against the new fiscal year’s draft budget.

Squabbles by lawmakers stemmed over excluding 1,131 provincial projects, allocating 1.8 billion Afghanis to 91 Code and another 1.8 billion for Code 92, government’s policy codes used in urgent time, as well as allocating a large amount of money for the operational unit of President’s Administrative Office.

The draft budget for the fiscal year 1400 included AFN 296 billion for the ordinary budget and AFN 156 billion for the development budge.

There were 137 legislators present at today’s session among whom 123 voted down the draft budget.
