Salang Highway Blocked to Land Traffics

The head of Salang Maintenance and Monitoring Department, Basir Ahmad Afghanzoi, spoke to TKG saying heavy snowfall and high winds have closed the highway to land traffics.

The highway will be blocked until things go back to normal, said Mr. Afghanzoi.

The Salang Highway is one of the largest highways in the country, connecting Kabul with at least 9 provinces in the north.

This highway is closed every year in winter due to heavy snowfall and snowstorms.
