Yousuf Rasheed, executive director of the Free and Fair Elections Forum of Afghanistan (FEFA), was shot dead Wednesday morning.
His death draw widespread condemnation.
It was condemned by the United States Department for Bureau of South and Central Asia, saying “his voice will not be silenced.” He was a “tireless advocate for democracy.”
“The future of Afghanistan cannot be foreclosed by murder but must be resolved at the negotiating table,” the U.S. State Department said on Twitter.
