Afghanistan Registers 234 New COVID-19 Infections

Afghanistan recorded 234 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, pushing its nationwide case count to 51,594.

As many as 234 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry on Thursday, adding the country recorded nine COVID-19 deaths during the same period.

The new patients died from the illness brought the total deaths to 2,135, according to ministry’s figures.

Also, 662 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 40,582.

At least 2,586 tests were carried out during the past 24 hours-period.
