Five rockets were launched from a vehicle in Qalandar Khel area of at the airfield around 5:50am, Parwan governor spokeswoman Wahida Shahkar spoke to TKG.
Afghan forces found the car and intercepted another seven rockets, according to the spokeswoman.
No resident has been said to be hurt, Shahkar said, adding there was no report of casualties and material damage to the airbase either.
Afghanistan-based U.S. forces and allies have yet to confirm the attack on the airbase.
There was no claim of responsibility.
