Armed Taliban stormed Qarabagh district in southern Ghazni province last night, triggering clashes with government forces, said governor spokesman Wahidullah Jumazada.
At least three Taliban militants were killed and another seven wounded in clashes, the spokesman said.
Jumazada put the toll of casualties brought to government forces to one belonging to local forces killed.
The Taliban officials have yet to comment.
