A suicide bomber planned to detonate explosive-loaded Humvee on Afghan National Army outpost in Andar district of southern Ghazni province Tuesday overnight, said governor spokesman Wahidullah Jumazada.
The attack was foiled before hitting the target, he added, at least three ANA soldiers were killed and another two wounded.
Another vehicle rigged with explosives was found and seized by Afghan forces. It was set to attack another base belonging to ANA forces in the district.
The suicide bomber managed to flee the area, said the spokesman.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
