The “Joint Working Committee” of the Afghan government and the Taliban’s negotiating teams met Saturday to decide on the items of the agenda for the negotiations, said Nader Nadery, government top negotiator.
Naeem Wardak, a spokesman for the Taliban political office in Qatar, also confirmed the meeting in a tweet.
The committee is set to hold another session today, according to officials.
The two sides overcame a three-month impasse earlier last week and agreed on rules and procedures for the negotiations.
The U.S. special envoy for the Afghan peace, Zalmay Khalilzad has called recent progresses in peace “positive” and “hopeful.”
