A campaign to vaccinate 9.9 million targeted children against polio began today and will be implemented within five days, said Masooma Jafari, deputy spokeswoman for the Afghan Ministry of Public Health.
During this campaign, children aged six months to five years will receive doses of Vitamin A too, she continued.
The ministry’s spokeswoman sought for people’s cooperation to help get the targeted children vaccinated.
According to health ministry’s data, there have been 56 WPV1 cases reported in Afghanistan in 2020.
