Afghan Foreign Minister Mohammad Haneef Atmar has departed for travel to Niger to take part in the 47th session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers which will be held on November 27-28 in Niamey.

Afghan Foreign Minister Meets Pakistani Counterpart on Sideline of OIC Meeting

On sidelines of the OIC meeting, Afghan Foreign Minister Haneef Atmar met with his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mahmoud Qureshi, Foreign Minister’s office said Friday.

The two sides discussed “next steps in peace, security, refugee return, regional connectivity and economic cooperation,” tweeted FM Atmar.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Qureshi extended condolences to his Afghan counterpart over recent terrorist attacks in Kabul and Bamiyan.

“Pakistan will continue to facilitate the Afghan-led and Afghan-owned process,” said Pakistani Foreign Minister.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is holding the 47th session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in the capital of the Republic of Niger, Niamey, on 27 and 28 November 2020, on the theme “United against Terrorism for Peace and Development”.
