Afghan forces have thwarted the Taliban attacks in Nawa and Nahr-e Siraj districts of southern Helmand province, inflicting heavy casualties to the armed group’s fighters, security officials said.
At least 14 Taliban insurgents were killed or wounded as their planned attack was thwarted by Afghan forces yesterday, said the 215th Maiwand Army Corps.
To quote a press release by the 215th Maiwand Army Corps, at least seven militants were killed and another seven injured.
The insurgent group has yet to comment.
