Afghanistan Registers 212 New COVID-19 Infections

The coronavirus total infections hit 45,490 in Afghanistan after it recorded 212 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours.

At least 212 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry, adding the country recorded 16 COVID-19 deaths during the same period.

The new patients died from the illness pushed the total deaths to 1,728, according to ministry’s figures.

Also, 23 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 36,145.

At least 1,476 tests were carried out during the past 24 hour period.

Worldwide, 1,406,759 have died from the deadly disease and over 59.6 more have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
