In a series of tweets, the U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad said Afghanistan-Pakistan agreement over a “Joint Vision” which “provides an opportunity to move forward on peace and development in the region.”
The Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s visit to Afghan capital was an important step, said the peace envoy.
“We congratulate both countries on emphasis Joint Vision places on: 1) preventing either’s territory to be used against the other, 2) inclusive governance, 3) stronger people/govt/security ties, 4) more integrated econ connectivity, trade & dvp-linking CentralAsia, Pak & Afg,” he said in the thread.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday visited Kabul where he met President Ashraf Ghani and government top officials.
During his visit, the two countries agreed on a shared vision to support peace and stability in both countries and the region.
