Four Taliban rocket launch attempts were thwarted overnight by government forces, the Ministry of Defense said.
The rockets were placed in Qala-e Qazi area of Paghman district in the Afghan capital Kabul to be later fired “on Kabul”, said the ministry.
The government officials blamed the Taliban for the attempt, but the group has yet to comment.
It follows Saturday’s deadly rocket attacks which struck several parts of Kabul city, leaving dozens killed or wounded.
The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attack.
