Afghan government forces carried out air strikes on Taliban militants in Deh Yak district of Ghazni province, which inflected heavy casualties to the group’s fighters, said governor spokesman, Wahidullah Jumazada.
At least eight Taliban were killed and six others wounded in attacks by government forces, according to the source.
A vehicle belonging to the militants and a number of their weapons were also destroyed.
The Taliban officials have not yet commented.
