A dozen civilians and five security personnel were killed in deadly cross-border clashes between Indian and Pakistani forces along the disputed region of Kashmir, media quoted officials on Friday.
At least six civilians, three soldiers and one border guard were killed on Indian side, said officials.
While Pakistani officials said four civilians and one soldier were killed on their side, blaming India for initiating the fighting by firing rockets and mortar shells overnight and on Friday.
A ceasefire has been taken effect since 2003 across the Line of Control (LoC), which divides Pakistan-administered and Indian-administered Kashmir.
The ceasefire, however, is constantly violated by both India and Pakistan, with each blaming the other for initiating violence.
