Afghanistan’s Top Peace Official Travels to Uzbekistan

Chairman of the national peace council, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, left Kabul for the Uzbek capital, Tashkent on Tuesday evening.

Afghanistan’s Top Peace Official Travels to Uzbekistan

During the visit, Dr. Abdullah meets with high-ranking Uzbek officials to discuss Afghan peace process and the Doha talks, read a statement by the High Council for National Reconciliation.

He will also exchange views on support for peace efforts, regional consensus, as well as bilateral ties.

The government’s top peace negotiator Abdullah Abdullah visited Pakistan, India and Iran earlier on October as part of the efforts to seek region’s support for the negotiations between the Afghan government and the Taliban.
