Overnight clashes erupted between Afghan government forces and the Taliban fighters in Zare district of northern Balkh province, said Hanif Razaiee, a spokesman for the 209th Army Corps.
At least ten Taliban militants were killed in clashes and airstrikes, he said.
The Taliban officials have not commented yet.
