The Taliban staged an attack in Farah province’s Pusht Rod district last night, said Shah Mahmoud Naeemi, a deputy for the provincial council.
The police chief of Pusht Rod district along with a number of government forces were killed and some others were captured alive by the group’s militants, said the source.
There were also reports that the command had fallen to the Taliban, but Farah’s governor issued denial.
The Taliban claimed responsibility, saying at least ten of the Afghan forces were killed and six others were captured.
