The Director of European Affairs at the Doha-Based Taliban Political Office, Abdul Haq Wasiq, and his accompanying delegation, held a video-conference with Swiss officials to discuss Afghan peace talks between the group and the Afghan government, Geneva conference and current developments in Afghanistan, the spokesman Dr. Mohammad Naeem Wardak took to Twitter.
“Today evening, Abdul Haq Wasiq, Head of the European Section of the PO,IEA and his accompanying delegation, and Abdul Hakim Himmat Akhundzada, Head of External liaisons of the Education and Higher Education Commission of the IEA held a video conference with Swiss non-resident Ambassador to Afghanistan De Cerjat, Swiss Ambassador to Qatar Edgar Dörig and representatives of the Swiss Foreign Ministry and SDA,” the Taliban spokesman tweeted yesterday.
“The Intra-afghan negotiations, current situation of Afghanistan, the upcoming Geneva Conference and Switzerland’s humanitarian and education assistance to Afghanistan were discussed in detail,” the spokesman Mohammad Naeem added.
