The country recorded some 12,097 coronavirus infections on Monday.
The country’s nationwide case count has jumped to 545,027 as new patients caught the disease.
The COVID-19 related deaths stood at 10,530 after 49 new patients contracting the illness died during the same period, a tally cited by Reuters indicated.
Earlier, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel warned there could be 19,200 cases per day if current trends continue.
