Since a week long, the Afghan government-backed forces had been conducting military operations against the Taliban fighters in Do Aba Yaftal area of Faizabad city and Arghanchkha district in the northern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan, said the provincial police spokesman Sanaullah Rouhani.
According to the spokesman, as many as 69 Taliban have been killed and 37 others were wounded during clashes and airstrikes in the province.
The Afghan forces have also cleared twelve villages from the Taliban, he further said.
At least two Security forces have also been wounded during clashes with the insurgents, continued Mr. Rouhani.
The Taliban have not yet commented.
