Yesterday around 5:30pm, Afghanistan time, a suicide attacker who was attempting to carry an explosive-rigged motorcycle in Khost city was killed as the explosives went off, said the provincial police.
The incident took place near the Doctors Without Border/MSF hospital in Khost’s provincial capital, Mr. Haidar, a spokesman for the provincial police chief, confirmed to TKG.
The suicide attacker himself was killed and eight civilians—majority of whom were to be students—were wounded, said the spokesman.
The people killed and wounded in the explosion were taken to the provincial and private hospitals, authorities in the provincial health department confirmed, adding some of them were in critical condition.
No armed group has so far claimed responsibility.
