Two members of the National Security Directorate in western Herat province were shot dead after unknown gunmen riding a motorbike opened fire at them, said police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizada.
They were on way from Injel to Herat city when came under armed attack in Ghaibatan area of Injel district yesterday evening, according to the spokesman.
No one has so far arrested in connection, said Mr. Walizada, adding police investigations were ongoing.
