At least 24 people have been killed Saturday, around 4:30pm, in a bomb attack targeting an educational center in west of the Afghan capital Kabul, officials in the Ministry of Interior confirmed.

Death Toll from Kabul’s Suicide Attack Rises to 24

The Afghan Interior Ministry said a bomb blast targeting the Kawsar-e-Danish educational center in west of Kabul was caused when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives near the center.

A suicide bomber in attempt to enter an educational center in Kabul’s 13th district, in Pul-e Khushk area, was detected by center’s bodyguards, according to the ministry’s spokesman, Tariq Arian. The attacker detonated his explosives, leaving as many as 81 killed and wounded.

The ministry’s spokesman put the toll of casualties to 24 killed and 57 others wounded.

Daesh insurgency group claimed responsibility, as AFP reported.
