At least 23 of the members of Afghanistan’s National Army were killed and four were captured alive in an overnight attack by the Taliban in the southern province of Nimroz, local officials said.

Shah Nawaz Qaderi, the district governor of Delaram district, said Friday, October 23, that at least 23 ANA forces were killed as Taliban stormed a military center belonging to these forces in Dehmazang area of the district.

The militants seized the weapons and supplies and took four other members of the National Army with themselves, said the source.

Officials in Afghanistan’s Defense Ministry could not be reached for comment.
