Mohibullah Barekzai, a medical doctor in the state-owned Jamhuriat Hospital who was abducted earlier this month was set free after forces of the National Security carried out a targeted rescue operation, a statement by the Afghan intelligence agency National Directorate of Security (NDS) said.
Belal, along with others of his friends, named Asadullah, Shirshah and Zakeria, kidnapped the doctor and then transferred him to Paghman, according to the statement.
Three other suspects, namely Nangialay, Faizullah and Abdul Hadi, were also among those arrested by security forces.
The Afghan Ministry of Public Health confirmed the abduction of Mohibullah Barekzai on October 10.
