The country recorded some 6,638 coronavirus infections on Thursday, the highest daily rise in number of cases.
The country’s nationwide case count has jumped to 341,223 as 6,638 new cases were registered on October 15.
The Western European country’s previous record daily spike was 6,294 on March 28, according to RKI data.
The COVID-19 related deaths stood at 9,710 on Thursday, a tally cited by Reuters indicated.
During the pandemic, Germany has experienced relatively low infection and death rates so far, but new daily cases have jumped in recent weeks.
Chancellor Angela Merkel has warned there could be 19,200 cases per day if current trends continue.
