The daily rise in the number of coronavirus deaths was again high on Wednesday, with 986 new fatalities reported in the last 24 hours, according to the health ministry’s data.

The latest data related to the pandemic indicated that totally over 6.76 million people have been infected by the virus, while the nationwide recoveries stood at 5,744,693.

Following the United States and Brazil, India has become the third country with the highest number of COVID-19 deaths.

The south-Asian country last week recorded over 100,000 deaths, marking to be the third country with highest deaths.
