Afghanistan Records 62 New COVID-19 Cases

The Afghan health ministry announced Wednesday (October 7) that the country has now registered 39,548 coronavirus cases and a total of 1,469 deaths since the outbreak.

In the last 24 hours, 62 more people tested positive for the highly contagious coronavirus, and two more patients died after contracting it, a tally by the Afghan health ministry indicated.

Kabul, Herat, Bamyan, Daykundi, Badkhshan, Nirmoz and Zabul reported the cases within the last 24 hours.

Another statistic has also indicated a rise: the number of patients recovered from the illness. According to health ministry data, 68 additional patients recovered from the novel coronavirus, bringing the toll to 33,045.
