A car bombing attack was prevented in Kandahar province’s Maiwand district on Saturday, with security forces spotting and foiling a vehicle laden with explosives, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Defense.
No one was announced to be dead or hurt, according to the statement, but the suicide bomber was killed.
Recently, there has been a spike in car bombings across the country.
At least 15 people were killed in an attack which took place yesterday on a district headquarters in the eastern Nangarhar province which saw more than 30 to be wounded.
No one claimed responsibility for either attacks.
