A mortar shell was fired at a residential house in Afghanistan’s eastern Laghman province on Tuesday night, killing three members of a family—a woman and two children—Asadullah Dawlatzai, a spokesman for the provincial governor said.
The spokesman for the office of governor put the toll of wounded people to three who were taken to hospital.
It wasn’t clear who fired the mortar, but the government officials pointed blame at the Taliban in similar attacks.
