Coronavirus Global Update: Death Toll Exceeds One Million

More than 33.3 million people have been infected with the coronavirus pandemic globally and total deaths related to the disease exceeded one million, according to JHU coronavirus tracker.

A total of 7,148,045 people have been infected by the novel coronavirus across the United States, which has the highest number of confirmed cases, while the country’s total deaths stood at 205,072.

In India, which has the second highest number of the highly contagious coronavirus cases, the total of confirmed infections have risen to 6,145,291, with nearly a hundred thousand fatalities.

Brazil, the third country with the highest number of infections follows India, with recording over 4.7 million coronavirus cases and 142,058 related deaths.

Brazil is then followed by Russia with a total of 1,154,299 cases of infection.

Then it is followed respectively by Columbia, Peru, Spain, Mexico, Argentina, and South Africa with highest rates of the novel coronavirus infections, surpassing half a million.
