The Taj Mahal reopened to visitors on Monday, September 21, even as India’s coronavirus cases continues to soar.
According to media reports, a maximum of 5,000 visitors are allowed daily to visit the world’s most famous tourist site.
As the south-Asian country has reopened its “monument to love”, new safety measures have been taken which include a ban on group photos, temperature checks at the entrance and digital tickets.
The Taj Mahal, marble mausoleum, was built in Agra, south of New Delhi, and is India’s most popular tourist site, but had been closed since March in a bid to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
