Today morning around 5:30am, an explosive-loaded vehicle blew up near a battalion of public protection forces in Gardiz city, the provincial capital of eastern Paktia province, Abdul Rahman Mangal, a spokesman for the provincial governor told TKG.
The deadly attack left three Afghan forces killed and five others wounded, according to the source.
Following the explosion, two armed assailants entered the scene, but were eliminated by Afghan forces.
The Taliban in a statement claimed responsibility for the attack.
