Global COVID-19 Cases Exceed 25 Million

More than 25.1 million people have been infected with the coronavirus pandemic globally and at least 842,633 COVID-19 patients have died, according to a tally by Reuters.

The figures by Reuters coronavirus map indicated that at least 5,977,624 people have been infected with the coronavirus across the United States, while the data brought the country’s total deaths to 182,772.

In Brazil, which has the second highest number of coronavirus cases after U.S., the total of confirmed infections has risen to 3,846,153 with 120,262 related fatalities.

India, the third country with the highest number of infections has so far registered 3,542,733 coronavirus cases. The total deaths, however, was lower than the two countries with the highest number of infections as a tally by Reuters indicated that the south-Asian country’s death toll hit 63,498 on Sunday.

India is then followed by Russia with a total of 985,346 cases and 17,025 deaths, a fourth country with largest number of coronavirus cases.

Latin America is the region with the most infections in the world, although some countries in the region are beginning to show a slight decline in infections.

The total cases in Peru has jumped to 639,435 cases since the outbreak. The death toll was brought to 28,607 on Monday, marking the country as the second country in the Latin America with highest number of coronavirus related deaths.

Peru is then followed respectively by Columbia and Mexico, with most cases in the Latin America.
