At least 17 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said Mohammad Rafiq Shirzai, head of health department in the province, adding the province lost ten COVID-19 patients during the same period.
The 10 patients died from the illness pushed the total deaths to 140, according to Mr. Shirzai.
Also, four suspected patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have died over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus suspected deaths to 84, he added.
So far, Afghanistan has reported 32,951 coronavirus infections, with a total of 864 deaths and more than a thousand total recoveries, the data collated by health ministry indicated.
