Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Friday (July 3) announced that he had tested positive for the novel coronavirus and quarantined himself.
Mr. Qureshi said on his Twitter account on Friday that he felt a “slight fever and immediately quarantined” himself.
“This afternoon I felt a slight fever and immediately quarantined myself at home. I have now tested positive for Covid 19. By the grace of Allah, I feel strong and energetic. I will continue to carry on my duties from home. Please keep me in your prayers,” Mr. Qureshi took to Twitter.
As the neighboring country see rapid surges in coronavirus cases and related deaths, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases has surpassed 222,000 in Pakistan while the death toll hit 4,551 with 78 new COVID-19 deaths on Friday.
