A mortar shell landed today in Sangin district of Helmand province, leaving ten, including children and elders killed and another 20 injured, said Omar Zwak, a spokesman for the provincial governor.
A number of cattle were also killed in the attack, Mr. Zwak added.
An investigation into the incident that how the mortar shell was fired was ongoing, according to Helmand governor’s spokesperson.
