Global COVID-19 Cases Exceed 10M, Death Toll Stands at nearly 500,000

More than 10 million people have been reportedly infected with the coronavirus pandemic globally and 498,274 COVID-19 patients have died, according to a Reuters tally.

The figures announced by Reuters illustrated that more than 2.5 million people have been infected with the coronavirus across the United States, while the data brought the country’s total deaths to 125,505.

In Brazil, which has now the second highest number of coronavirus cases, the total of confirmed infections have risen to 1,313,667, with 57,070 related fatalities.

Russia, the third country with the highest number of infections has so far registered more than half a million coronavirus cases. The total deaths, however, was lower than the two countries with the highest number of infections as a tally by Reuters indicated that Russia’s death toll hit 8,969 on Sunday.

Russia is then followed by India with a total of 528,859 cases and 16,095 deaths, a fourth country with largest number of coronavirus cases.

The total cases in UK has jumped to 310,250 cases by far. The death toll was brought to 43,514 on Sunday, marking the United Kingdom as the third country with highest number of coronavirus related deaths.

Then it is followed respectively by Peru, Chile, Spain, Italy, Iran and Mexico with total cases higher than a two hundred thousand.
