Mohammad Lal Amiri, a spokesperson for the provincial police chief confirmed to The Killid Group that on Wednesday afternoon a group of Taliban fighter attacked a security forces’ convoy in the southern Zabul province, after which they were hit by Afghan forces air strike.
As a result of the air strike and clashes took place between the armed group and Afghan forces, as many as 18 Taliban militants were killed, Amiri said, adding that three children were injured as the Taliban’s firings.
The attack comes after a three-day ceasefire ended on Tuesday, with the armed Taliban denying claims that 18 of the group’s militants were killed, adding attacks left ten killed and/or injured.
