Afghanistan Records More Than 13,000 Coronavirus Infections

As of today, over 13,000 cases of coronavirus, and nearly 235 related deaths have been reported in the Afghanistan, according to a tally by the Afghan health ministry.

Kabul city really remains the country’s worst-affected part, with a total of 5,093 cases of infection and 29 deaths since the outbreak.

Following the capital Kabul, the western Herat province has the highest number of infections and fatalities by the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the data provided by the Afghan health ministry, Herat has recorded as many as 2,105 cases of coronavirus as of today, with a total of 44 deaths in the province.

Then it is followed by Kandahar and Balkh with most infection cases.

The total coronavirus related deaths has jumped to 235 as additionally eight patients infected with the illness died in the last 24 hours while a total of 1,209 patients have recovered from the deadly disease.

Addressing a press conference, Dr. Wahid Majroh, the Afghan healthcare deputy minister for the ministry of public health said there was a 40% increase in cases in the past ten days.
