Residents of Kabul Are Moving again: Walking, Driving and Businesses Return Back to Normal

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has criticized the residents for breaking the restrictions and not cooperating with authorities to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.

Tareq Arian, a spokesman for the Ministry of Interior (MoI) affirmed to The Killid Group that lockdown restrictions haven’t been lifted, but people have got kind of careless and resumed their old routines. He urged the citizens to stay at home and avoid all forms of social gatherings for their safety and the safety of other country fellows.

As provinces around the country have begun lifting stay-at-home and social distancing orders, Afghanistan has reported an additional 262 new cases of the coronavirus on Sunday, bringing its national case count to 6,664, said the deputy health minister, Dr. Wahidullah Majroh, addressing to the media.

Afghanistan lost two more people to the coronavirus from Saturday to Sunday, taking the toll of fatalities in the country to 169, he added.

As many as seven patients having been infected with the novel COVID-19 have recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 784 in the country, the data provided by the Afghan health ministry indicated.

As Afghan people are easing stay-at-home restrictions and the number of cases increases day by day, the Integrity Watch Afghanistan, meanwhile, has urged the Afghan government to focus its attention to the health centers to help fight the pandemic.

Based on the information provided by the IWA, public health centers have been facing challenges, including operational, maintenance and an ineffective monitoring of the health ministry.
