Coronavirus Total Infections Jump to 3,392

07 May (The Killid Group) — Afghanistan coronavirus infections hit 3,392.

Addressing to media, the Afghan deputy health minister, Wahid Majruh, announced on Wednesday that the country’s tally has jumped to 3,392 and that the number of confirmed infections, including deaths, recovered and current cases, had risen to 3,951 in the country.

The daily rise in the number of infections and deaths was sharply high for another day in a row, a sign the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is approaching the peak of its crisis.

According to deputy public health minister, the total infections in the last 24 hours includes 67 cases in Kabul, 32 in Herat, 14 in Kandahar, 11 in Nangarhar, nine in each Laghman and Faryab, eight in Logar, four in each Balkh, Paktia and Baghlan, two in Kunar, and one in each, Samangan, Sare-Pol, Nuristan and Helmand provinces.

Presenting the latest statistics, 358 patients having been contracted with the disease have recovered as additional 37 patients got better after the illness in the past 24 hours.

The ministry’s latest figures related to the pandemic, however, indicated that over the past 24 hours, nine infected patients have died of the virus, taking the nationwide death toll to 101.

Globally, the pandemic has infected 3,660,731people and killed at least 255,050, mostly in the United States and the Europe, the Reuters coronavirus tracker indicated.
