April 7 (The Killid Group) – The total number of coronavirus cases in Italy has increased to 132,547 on Tuesday, while that of deaths hit 16,523, according to the data provided by JHU.

Italy with the highest death toll of more than 16,000 remains the first worst-hit country, yet on Sunday, it reported its lowest daily coronavirus death toll in more than two weeks, a sign it may have passed the peak of its crisis.

According to health officials in Italy, of those infected, 28,976 are hospitalized, 3,898 are in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and the rest are quarantined at home.

In the meantime, the total number of confirmed cases recorded in Spain hit 136,675, with a total of 13,341 deaths, which is still the second worst hit country in Europe after Italy.

In Germany, on the other hand, the total confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported 103,375, with a total of 1,810 fatalities, according to the data compiled by JHU.

The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed 8,911 lives in France, said health officials in the country.

Currently, there are 98,984 people infected with the coronavirus pandemic, including 7,072 patients in intensive care, media quoted French health minister.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Belgium has risen from 19,691 to 20,814 by Monday morning with 1,632 deaths, according to the latest reports by world media.

In UK, however, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been moved to intensive care after his coronavirus symptoms “worsened,” Downing Street reported.

The death toll from the contagious coronavirus in Britain reached 5,385, while a total of 52,279 infections were reported in the country.

Globally, there are now more than 1.3 million confirmed cases of coronavirus in 184 countries and more than 74,000 people have died.
