Turkey Suspends All International Flights amid COVID-19 Outbreak: Media

March 28 (The Killid Group) – With coronavirus cases increasing, Turkey’s President announced a suspension to all international flights as a part of measures to contain the spread of coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19.

In an address to the nation, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, “All international flights have been suspended for an indefinite period.”

The international flights in Turkey were canceled as the country’s death toll from the pandemic hit 92, Turkey’s media reported.

Taking all the precautions, Turkey will overcome the problem, said Mr. Erdogan, adding that, people should stay calm and not to panic.

After first appearing in China’s central city of Wuhan, COVID-19 has now spread to at least 175 countries and regions, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

The data shows more than 104,837 cases have been reported worldwide, with the death toll of 27,862 and around 131,854 recoveries.

U.S., Italy, Spain, China and Iran continue to be the worst-hit countries.
