March 15 (The Killid Group) — Five more cases of the novel coronavirus, officially known as COVID-19, were recorded in Afghanistan.
Waheedullah Mayar, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Health said on Sunday that five cases of infection by the coronavirus were detected in the provinces of Herat and Daykundi.
Of the total number of infection cases, four cases were recorded in Herat and one more in Daykundi, Mayar added.
According to Mayar, the total number of positive cases of coronavirus in the country has now jumped to 16, of which 10 positive cases in Herat, three in Samangan, and one positive case in Kapisa, Balkh and Daikundi were recorded.
So far, 206 suspected cases have tested, of which 190 were negative, according to health ministry.
The Afghan Ministry of Public Health added, all patients infected with the coronavirus have recently returned from Iran.
