(TKG) − The International Champions Cup (ICC) announced they have cancelled all of their games scheduled to take place in Asia this summer due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The ICC is a pre-season tournament that sees European sides participate in friendly matches against other major teams across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

In the previous summer competition, the Premier League sides Manchester United, Spurs and Arsenal took part.

According to BBC news agency as quoting a spokesman for the ICC’s promoter, Relevant Sports, “The health and safety of fans, clubs, players, staff and partners are our top priority.”

Prior to this, several matches were cancelled due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

So far, around 86,000 people across almost 60 countries have since become infected, resulting in more than 3,000 deaths.
