(TKG) – At least 59 members of the Taliban’s group surrendered to Afghan forces in western provinces of Herat and Ghor, officials said.
According to Sayed Aqa Hussaini, the spokesperson for the 209th Zafar Army Corps as saying to The Killid Radio, at least 59 Taliban fighters surrendered to Afghan forces in Shahrak district of Ghor province as well as in Chesht district of Herat province.
Three of the Taliban leaders, including – Mullah Nasir, Mullah Hussain and Mullah Rabbani – were also among the aforementioned Taliban fighters, the source added.
Prior to this, dozens of the Taliban fighters surrendered in western provinces of the country.
The Taliban, however, did not comment in this regard.
