World news agencies quoted U.S. and Iraqi military officials as saying, several rockets landed down near the U.S. embassy in Iraq capital’s Green Zone early on Sunday, February 16.
The rockets hit an Iraqi base in Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone where U.S. troops and other coalition forces were stationed; Green Zone in Iraq’s capital of Baghdad is an area where most of the foreign embassies and government offices are stationed.
No casualties were reported yet.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks, but the United States frequently blames on Iran-backed militias for such attacks.
